Have you ever had something that you really wanted to do, but the time just wasn’t right? Well blogging about how God hears and answers prayer is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time and I’m finally doing it!
Eight years ago the Lord took me through some of the hardest times of my life, and it was at that time that I was compelled to learn all I could about prayer and how to move the hand of God. I needed Him to hear my pleas, and I needed Him to answer. I prayed fervently for months, and in God’s perfect time, He answered my prayers and delivered me.
Over the years, I’ve noticed that the times I’ve grown closest to the Lord are the times when I’ve experienced hardships. This is because God allows us to experience the hard times so that we will press into Him and lean on Him. This, in turn, helps our faith to grow. He wants us to lean on Him. He wants us to pray and he delights in giving answers to prayer.
If life were always “a bed of roses”, it would be too easy for us to rely upon ourselves. But in times of trouble, God receives more Glory and our faith grows, when we patiently wait for Him to answer. When I was going through those hard circumstances, I often reminded myself of something Zac Poonen said, “Lord, you know how long I need to be under these pressing circumstances to be broken and crushed so that Your fragrance can come forth from my life.”
If we learn how to ask according to His will and we ask with a right heart, then God will answer because His Word promises this.
When we study the life of Jesus Christ, we see God giving answers to prayer. We will be studying this because it’s very important to see what Jesus’ relationship was with His Father as it was the key to God answering His prayers. What God did for His son, Jesus, He will also do for you because He loves you as much as He loves Jesus.
There’s a man that lived in the 1800’s, who had many of his prayers answered by God and we’re going to take a look at His life too. This man knew how to move the hand of God, and how to pray aright. This man was George Müller of Bristol.
George Müller cared for over 10,000 orphans during his life. He wasn’t a rich man. In fact he was a very poor man from earthly standards. The way he cared for these orphans was only by prayer and believing that God would provide for his needs. He never once asked anyone for the means to help care for the orphans. It was simply through prayer that He received what was needed, and that included over $157,000,000.00 (that’s one hundred fifty seven MILLION dollars) in today’s currency exchange rate.
I’ve tried to make this website as user friendly as possible. I have a Prayer Requests page where we can post our requests and pray for one another. If you have a story of how God provided a miracle for you, I encourage you to submit it on my contact page and I will review it. If approved, I will post your story on this site so that others can be encouraged. We’re always looking for inspirational stories.
You’ll also have an opportunity to leave a comment on most posts because I really want this site to be an area where we can all discuss things together.
Join me as we travel down this road together. I have some wonderful resources to help you learn how to get more answers to your prayers, and I look forward to sharing them with you.
