2 Corinthians 5:21, the Bible says, “He who knew no sin, Jesus, became sin for you that you would become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.” We’re not talking about self-righteousness, something that you can earn by good deeds and that sort of thing, but we’re talking about the righteousness of God, the holiness of God, the pureness of God that Jesus died for, so that we could have this particular lifestyle. The reason God did that is God is a perfect God, He’s a righteous God, He’s a holy God, He’s a pure God, and He wants to walk beside you. He wants to live inside of you, and you’ve got to be like Him in order for that to happen. And so Jesus paid the price for you to be the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
